Options for Undocumented

Entering the United States without documentation can be a difficult and stressful situation, but it is important to know that there are immigration options available to you. The first step is to understand your current legal status and any potential grounds for deportation.

One option to consider is applying for a waiver of inadmissibility. This waiver may be granted if you can demonstrate that your deportation would cause extreme hardship to a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident spouse, parent, or child.

Another option is to apply for asylum. If you have been persecuted or fear persecution in your home country based on your race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion, you may be eligible for asylum in the United States.

Additionally, you may be eligible for a form of relief called Cancellation of Removal. This relief is available to certain non-permanent residents who have been physically present in the United States for at least 10 years, have good moral character, and whose deportation would result in exceptional and extremely unusual hardship to a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident spouse, parent, or child.

It’s also important to remember that the immigration system is complex and ever-changing, so it’s always best to consult with an experienced immigration attorney to discuss your specific case.
